Cut-off marks or scores or percentiles represent the “minimum qualifying marks” that a candidate must achieve in an entrance exam to progress to the next stage of the selection process. For MBA admissions, IIM Shillong Cut Off scores are typically released for the CAT exam. These cut-offs vary across institutions and programs, depending on factors such as institute rankings, the number of applications received, intake capacity, or available seats. It’s important to note that IIM Shillong Year Wise Cut Off may vary slightly from year to year.
Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Shillong MBA Cut-Offs
IIM Shillong releases two different CAT Cut-Offs: IIM Shillong Qualifying CAT and IIM Shillong Final CAT Cut Off. Let’s understand both of them.
IIM Shillong Qualifying CAT Cut Off
These cut-offs are used to shortlist candidates for the Personal Interview (PI) round. The IIM Shillong Qualifying CAT Cut Off is released on a sectional basis. General candidates must have a minimum of 75 percentile across all 3 sections of CAT i.e. VARC, QA, and LRDI.
IIM Shillong Final Cut Off
This refers to the actual cut-off for students admitted into the MBA program. The IIM Shillong Final Cut Off tends to be higher and typically falls between CAT 94-98 percentile.
This range is comparable to IIM Tiruchirappalli, IIM Udaipur and IIM Rohtak, which also set final cut-offs in the 95-99 percentile range. However, the variation depends on the batch profile, seat availability, and the weight assigned to other admission parameters like work experience, academics, and diversity.
While the IIM Shillong Qualifying CAT Cut Off for PI round shortlisting is announced shortly after the CAT exam, the Final Cut Off for IIM Shillong admission is known only after the admissions are completed.
IIM Shillong Executive MBA (PGPEx) Cut Off
The Post Graduate Program for Executives (PGPEx) admission cut-off at IIM Shillong includes specific criteria for standardized tests. Applicants must achieve a minimum of 50 percentile in the CAT exam to be considered for admission. Alternatively, a GMAT score of at least 50 out of 800 is required for eligibility.
