Let’s start by noting a few highlights of MBA fees in India. 

• Most Expensive MBA Colleges in India for 2 Year MBA: IIM Calcutta and XLRI Jamshedpur are the two most expensive MBA programs in India. 
   
• Most affordable MBA colleges: FMS Delhi remains the most cost-effective MBA program with fees of Rs 2.32 lakhs. JBIMS Mumbai continues to offer an MBA at Rs 6 lakhs. IIT MBAs are most affordable compared to similar ranked institutions. 

IIM Calcutta and XLRI Jamshedpur are the two most expensive MBA programs in India. The two-year fees for IIM Calcutta MBA for 2025-27 batch is Rs 33.50 lakhs. XLRI Jamshedpur PGDM fees for 2025-27 batch is Rs 30.60 lakhs. Interestingly IIM Ahmedabad fees is considerably lower than peers at Rs 26.50 lakhs. IIM Calcutta, IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Bangalore remain the most expensive IIMs in India, with fees surpassing Rs 25 lakhs. IIM Shillong is perhaps the outlier with very high fees and low relative placements and ranks. Interestingly, some top IIMs, such as IIM Kozhikode and IIM Indore, have kept their fees unchanged this year. Meanwhile, IIM Lucknow, IIM Trichy, and several other newer IIMs have yet to announce their revised fees for 2025. Check details in table 2 below. MBA Fees in India for non-IIM PGDM B-schools and University B-schools varies a lot. Top Private B-schools like Symbiosis SIBM, IMI Delhi, XIMB, and K J Somaiya Mumbai now charge over Rs 22 lakhs. MBA Fees for Top Private MBA Colleges like IMT Ghaziabad, Great Lakes Chennai, FORE School of Management New Delhi and GIM Goa are higher than 20 lakhs. 
A significant number of institutes fall in the Rs 11-15 lakh range, including IMI Bhubaneswar, IFMR Chennai and BIMTECH Greater Noida. These B-schools offer a balance between affordability and strong placements, making them attractive for MBA aspirants. Meanwhile, MBA programs under Rs 10 lakhs still offer quality education at a reasonable cost. Institutes like BITS Pilani MBA, SIES Mumbai, and IPE Hyderabad provide good value.
